Montreux, 1969. Listen closely to the lyrics. Plus ça change.

Montreux Jazz Festival 1969. Really cookin' performance and the song is still relevant.

Chairman Recommended -- Water Flosser

Added on by C. Maoxian.

I had my semi-annual teeth cleaning yesterday and the hygienist spent the entire time oohing and aahing over my pearly whites. Of course I've had a dozen root canals done and an equal number of crowns put in over the years, so it's more like pearly off-whites.

Anyway, it's doubly important that you keep things clean if you have a lot of fake teeth, and I highly recommend the Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser ($60) for this purpose. Used together with the floss picks that I recommended earlier, you should be able to deny your dentist the many Mercedes payments that you'd otherwise be making for him.

Some buyout rumor, I guess. You would have had to be sitting in front of your screens and paying attention to a screaming scanner. I was having my teeth cleaned at exactly this time today. Risk / reward wasn't so wonderful as it turned out.

As I note on the chart, the old candlevolume is a poor (man's) substitute for the slick new "Footprint" charts. My buddy @tradergav informs me that they are known as Numbers Bars in Sierra Chart.

Retro Muscle Cars

Added on by C. Maoxian.

While I was away in China for the past decade, American car manufacturers started to make these retro muscle cars, and I actually don't hate them. I don't think I'd ever buy one, but they look surprisingly good. I might rent one of each for a day, assuming I can find them locally, and give them a spin.

The Dodge Challenger is the ugliest of the bunch, thus it appeals to me the most:

Challenger R/T Plus Shaker ... Love the purple, but I can't find that color online, maybe it's blue ... found it, called "Plum Crazy"

The Chevy website is sort of broken and hard to navigate, and the pictures are not good ... none of this inspires confidence. Nevertheless I was able to find this picture of the Camaro Z/28. It looks like a Nissan rice rocket to me, you know, the GT-R, or 350Z or whatever.  It's all-American characteristics are not distinctive enough for me.

Lastly we have the Ford Mustang ... again, from this side view this GT looks like a Nissan to me ... boring. But from other angles it looks a bit better, more distinctive -- it has great tail lights, for instance.  Nevertheless, on the basis of style alone, the Dodge Challenger is the clear winner, in my eyes.

Final look at the Challenger in red, no striping:
