Big fan of Derek Trucks, didn't realize his wife? could sing ... she reminds me a bit of Bonnie Raitt, a nice strong voice. His solo gives me goose bumps, the whole band is great. Discovered via the Spotify algorithm once again.
Books Read -- No Easy Day
Supposedly a "firsthand account of the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden" ... I don't know if any of it is true or accurate, it could just be more myth-making, a sort of PSYOP aimed at the American public, but it's entertaining and a quick read.
Since I wisely cut down my goal of reading one book a week to one book a month (I know, I'm really straining myself), I am now on target: in January I read Emil and the Detectives, and in February I read Nothing in Her Way ... and River Girl.
Anadarko Not Yet Out of the Dark
Flipping through the weekly charts, wondering if "the bottom" is in for the Energies, and what do I run across but APC with this obvious Idiot Wave set-up. Looks like it could go below the January lows if the pattern works out the way it should, in Idiot Theory.
(Feb. 9, 2016: Anadarko joins ConocoPhillips, Marathon in cutting payouts ... looked like a "deep value" before they cut the dividend ... learned my lesson well having bought "deep values" AIG, Citigroup, WaMu, and a bunch of regional banks in the summer of 2008 ... once burned, twice shy -- energies debacle avoided.)
