White girl can sing (but she can’t dance).
Astrotech Trade (ASTC) with Bookmap View
I made a good trade in the HTB (hard-to-borrow) du jour, Astrotech (ASTC), today. Borrow cost was 3.33 cents a share ($333 per 10,000 shares) … this is how I view Bookmap … basically it’s one-minute candles overlaid on the order book heatmap.
Make the video full screen and make sure you have 1080p HD quality playback. You should watch it at 2x fast forward, and pause it where you like. There is no sound. This is the first time I’ve made one of these, so I should get better if I make more in future.
Movies Watched -- Victim (1961)
100 minute running time … interesting for historical reasons, detailing the blackmail that resulted from the anti-homosexual laws in England at the time … a John Farr recommendation … it wasn’t terrible but I also wasn’t thrilled with it, and it certainly doesn’t make my Top 500 list.
Nature played me a dirty trick
Mistreatment of Detainees
“Abuse of detainees in Afghanistan included being stripped, kicked and punched, sleep deprivation, sensory deprivation, and being forced to endure the films of Jean-Luc Godard, according to Human Rights Watch.”
Movies Watched -- Contempt (1963)
103 minute running time but I wisely abandoned this at the 10 minute mark … sweet Jesus, this was a pile of shit … sure, Brigitte Bardot has an outstanding ass, but holy crap this was terrible. Jean-Luc Godard, what a pretentious prick. John Farr steered me wrong here (“In the hands of New Wave master-bater Godard…“), but you don’t have to make the same mistake that I did and waste a rental on this. And poor old Fritz Lang roped into appearing, sheesh. Full red, avoid.
Which do you like better, my breasts, or my nipples?
Movies Watched -- The Most Dangerous Game (1932)
62 minute running time … early talkie … like Island of Lost Souls, another island occupied by a madman doing bad things … not badly done and only an hour long … see it if you’re interested in early cinema, but it doesn’t make my Top 500 list, I don’t think.
You raving lunatic!
Summer Walker Singing
I just need some dick
I just need some love
Tired of fuckin’ with these lame niggas. baby
I just need a thug
Movies Watched -- Salesman (1969)
90 minute running time so the perfect length. I loved this one! It’s a sort-of documentary from 1969 made by a pair of Jewish brothers who followed a group of Irish-Catholic door-to-door bible salesmen doing their thing … it’s fascinating, hilarious, tragic, and deeply depressing all at once. Great recommendation from John Farr since I’d never even heard of it. Green-go!
Me father's on the force. He gets a pension.
Movies Watched -- Red River (1947)
133 minute running time, so way way way too long … I abandoned this at the one hour mark and should have quit sooner … Marion Morrison with his weird way of talking and walking … pretty boy Montgomery Clift may explain why John Farr recommended this, but I hated this one … dumb violence, fake Injun attacks, phony father-son psycho-drama, it just sucked. Total avoid.
Won't anything make a man out of you?
Movies Watched -- Downhill Racer (1969)
101 minute running time … I liked this one … an unusual movie, neat to see the ancient ski technology … Redford plays a selfish rogue, getting ahead with his raw talent and killer good looks … able to bang the hottest girl (Carole Carle) in the horseshit town he goes home to when not banging a sophisticated Ivanka beauty while in Europe, though she could take him or leave him … a good recommendation by John Farr, I’d never heard of this one, and I’m glad I did … green-go. For once the Criterion Collection gets it right with an English language selection.
I've got a chance to go to Denver this fall and study dental hygiene.
