New Sandbox Additions

Added on by C. Maoxian.

Santa brought the kids some earth moving equipment and a sandbox. He placed the latter in the basement and filled it with 700 pounds of sand, which strained his old back.

The sacred rule of only buying automobiles from the Axis powers also applies to toys. I love the Siku 1:50 stuff. Daddy has his own corner of the sandbox and is known to make rumbling sounds while improving the site.

Movies Watched -- Mr. Turner

Added on by C. Maoxian.

Quit after 15 minutes ... period piece ... would have had to turn on subtitles to understand anything ... wasn't in the mood for this one ... plus 2 hours and 30 minutes, meaning at least an hour too long.  No thanks.

Movies Watched -- We Are The Best!

Promising at first but I quit after thirty minutes ... two obnoxious Swedish girls in their early teens? who wanted to start a punk band? They started to grate on me.

(Dick Brody hated it too.)

There are only a few more movies to watch on the 2014 Master List and it looks like there's no way I'm going to find ten to recommend from then ... a very bad year for movies it seems. (The ones in bold italic on the master list are the ones I can recommend.)

Chairman Recommended: Underwear

Added on by C. Maoxian.

I only wear one kind of underwear in one color, and this has been the case for the last 20 years. I was reminded of this fact after watching Jerry Seinfeld query the President of the United States about his underwear wearing habits.

These beauties have a bubble butt cut, which was important for me once upon a time. Sadly after being married for so long, my wife has chewed my ass off and I've lost my once magnificent bottom.

Recently while sitting down, my Falstaffian gut blew the double buttons off a pair, which has encouraged me to lose some weight -- you have to be able to read the signs.  Poor people are screwed in most ways, including wearing uncomfortable underwear, but this is an area where no matter what your means are, you should always open your wallet (as you should when buying a mattress). A steal at $45 a pair. Chairman recommended!

Smithsonian Magazine Subscribers

Added on by C. Maoxian.

For some reason, my mother's husband gave me (and my wife) an annual membership to the Smithsonian Institution for Christmas, which includes a magazine subscription (or vice versa). I don't think we're the right target demographic for this publication because I flipped through the magazine and it's full of ads for commemorative coins, cruises (both ocean and river), and pharmaceuticals. We're not there yet.

There's a Little Clock Inside That Keeps Tickin'

I like a couple of Rilo Kiley songs so Spotify recognized this and served me someone named Jenny Lewis, whom I now know is the voice behind Rilo Kiley. Love her sound.

Jenny Lewis performs on Austin City Limits on January 24, 2015. Watch Austin City Limits on PBS. To find out when ACL is on in your area, visit: acltv.com/watch/tv-schedule/ to check your local listings.
