Avon Gets Knocked
Not sure what to make of the pre-open action in Avon (AVP) ... reported Q3 results at 7:01 AM ... Associated Press wrote this post at 7:23 AM ("results topped Wall Street expectations") ... stock actually opened *up* at 8:00 AM and traded several thousand shares above $11.50 before a correct interpretation took over during the conference call ... the stock ended down around 9% from yesterday's close. Anyone who could intelligently parse the results when they were released would have made a bundle on the short side.
