Associated Press wrote this post at 7:23 AM ("results topped Wall Street expectations") ... stock actually opened *up* at 8:00 AM and traded several thousand shares above $11.50 before a correct interpretation took over during the conference call ... the stock ended down around 9% from yesterday's close. Anyone who could intelligently parse the results when they were released would have made a bundle on the short side.

Lan Larb: pretty damn legit new Thai restaurant - what shi eats
This (above) is larb. Larb is actually a Laotian dish of minced meat, fish sauce, lime juice, roasted ground rice, and lots of sweet raw onions. It was delicious here. The dish has a great combo of sweetness from the fish sauce and onions, acidity from the lime, and spice from the… spice. The roasted rice was delicious and added a great crunch.

Understanding Chinese cash flow statements | China Accounting Blog | Paul Gillis
There is a big differ-ence in the cash flow statements under the two standards. IFRS (and US GAAP) permit use of either the direct or indirect method for the cash flow statement, but most companies, including Tianhe, elect to use the indirect method. In the US, a 2007 study of 600 listed companies found 594 used the indirect method. CAS, however, requires that the cash flow statement be prepared using the dir-ect method, and following the belt and suspenders approach of Chinese financial reporting, CAS requires disclosure of the indirect method in the footnotes. So investors get it both ways, a modest plus for CAS.
