Chat Room May Be Open, Stocks to Watch Definitely Will Be PostedStill not sure if I can chat this morning, but I'll definitely get the Early Movers list up at the usual time. Thanks to everyone who kindly sent us their wishes, special thanks to those who included a check. ;-) Posted on January 13, 2005 at 7:45, GMT
Chart of the Day -- Genzyme, Weekly ChartGENZ is within striking distance of its all-time closing high of $61. GENZ currently has a 5.63% weighting in the BBH (Biotech HOLDR), which is one of the sectors of the market I follow closely and currently favor.

I Wouldn't Buy That for a DollarTheStreet.com is exploring strategic options:
"Financial news Web site TheStreet.com Inc. Wednesday said it hired New York investment bank Allen & Co. to consider 'strategic alternatives' for the company ...
The move comes two months after San Francisco-based MarketWatch Inc., another online provider of business news and information, agreed to be
acquired by Dow Jones & Co. for $519 million in cash."
I'm still stunned that Dow Jones agreed to pay that much for MKTW. Clearly they didn't have "Uncle Morty" negotiating on their behalf. TheStreet.com currently has a market cap around $100 million. Uncle Morty would begin the bidding around one-fifth of that amount. Posted on January 13, 2005 at 7:25, GMT
Dilbert Gets "Wize" to Scammers Who Sell "Tools" to Fools
Dogbert: I'm creating software that will help small investors pick stocks. It combines past trends that are not indicative of the future with the user's hubris and
arrogance. Now all I need are testimonials from people whose results are not typical!
Dilbert: So it works? Posted on January 13, 2005 at 7:15, GMT
