Chart of the Day -- Whole Foods Market, Monthly Chart

Whole Foods Market, Inc. owns and operates a chain of natural and organic foods supermarkets in the United States. As of September 28, 2003, it operated 145 stores in 26 states, the District of Columbia and Canada. Regional distribution centers, bakehouse facilities, commissary kitchens, seafood processing facilities, produce procurement centers and a coffee roasting operation support the Company's stores. WFMI's product selection has a heavy emphasis on perishable foods designed to appeal to both natural foods and gourmet shoppers.

WFMI hit a new all-time high yesterday. We used to shop at Whole Foods when we lived in Chicago, and sorely miss their selection of bread and muffins, especially the Natural Ovens products which are just great.

It's That Time of Year Again

Wall St Bonuses to Total $15.9 Billion in 2004, by Linda Prospero:

"Average bonuses will be about $100,400 this year, distributed to approximately 158,000 securities industry workers. That is higher than last year's average of nearly $99,700 and just short of the record $101,000 paid in 2000."

Roundup of China Aviation Oil News XII

Costly lessons from the CAO scandal --- Xinhua

"'The situation facing me is different from Leeson... and I'm not Leeson.' If he had another US$250 million, he would have reversed the trend, the 43-year-old son of a Chinese farmer told Caijing magazine."

And if pigs had wings, they could fly.

"'If I had committed 1,000 crimes, I would face up to them honestly,' Chen was quoted as saying by Singapore's Sunday Times. 'I do not blame anyone. I have let the company down... At worst, after a few years, I will return and grow rice.'"

No, at worst you will receive a bullet in the back of the head.
