Chat Room Open from 8AM-9AM, Eastern Time

In yesterday's pre-open chat "james" wondered whether JOBS was a good short (it was, though we mocked him at the time, ha!), and "priceswilltell" scored once again with a timely call on MNST. What did the Chairman contribute? Musings on penology. Come join us today!

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is a diversified specialty food company engaged in the manufacture, marketing and distribution of spices, herbs, seasonings and other flavors to the entire food industry.

MKC hit a new all-time high yesterday. While looking at this chart, think about what you pay for that little bottle of tarragon and all the other little bottles that fill your spice rack.

Vanguard Closes Energy Fund

Vanguard closes Energy Fund

"Vanguard's top-performing fund this year, Vanguard Energy Fund will cease accepting new accounts; existing shareholders may continue to purchase shares. This is the seventh of the firm's 25 actively managed stock mutual funds to close in the past 30 months."

I've noted before that Vanguard's fund closures can be seen as a contrary sign that prices have peaked, even though John Brennan says explicitly in the press release: "the closing of the fund should not be construed as a statement on or a forecast for the energy sector."
