Chart of the Day -- Deckers Outdoor Corporation, Weekly ChartDECK hit a new all-time high this week. Hey, I love my Tevas as much as the next guy (even if they won't get me laid), but I'd never pay retail for them. Other people obviously don't have a problem paying the sticker price for their sandals. My uncle Morty taught me: never pay retail for anything. Listen to your uncle Morty.

How to Make the SwitchSwitching from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox Reviewing my site stats, I see that the majority of my readers (yes, over a half dozen of you) are still using Internet Explorer as your browser. Guys, you have to make the switch to Firefox... its Adblock function alone is invaluable, not to mention popup blocking, tabbed browsing, infinitely better security, etc., etc. Maoxian.com also looks better in Firefox. Do it today! Posted at 7:35, GMT
Competent StatisticiansFree the Exit Poll Data, by Lawrence Lessig:
"I don't think there was a conspiracy to suppress the Bush vote, nor do I think Diebold stole the
election for Bush - but there are obvious puzzles that need to be resolved. First, there is Morris'
point - exit polls are just not that wrong. Second, there are the insanely inverted county votes
in the many heavily Democratic counties in Florida that had their votes counted by optical scan
(and tallied by Diebold machines among others). Why were the polls so bad? Why did Democrats
in those counties overwhelmingly defect to the President while remaining 'liberal' in their
other votes?"
