Today's Off-Color Joke

This one goes out to the prigs and prudes at Dow Jones & Co.

Intraday Fuzzy Logic - Google, 15-minute Chart

Although I normally don't use Fuzzy for intraday stock set-ups, he's had a good run with Google. It helps that GOOG has gone more or less straight up these last couple of months: when every dip is a buy, even the biggest dipsticks can make out!

Nice Listing of Gary B. Smith Articles

Trader Mike posted a nice list of links to articles by Gary Smith: The Chartman Unleashed.

In the old days I exchanged some emails with Gary and found him to be a good guy; what happened to the goatee, Gary? (I also exchanged quite a few emails with Cramer, but that's another story.)

I never visit theStreet.com because they make you click "Next" 18 times to read one article (in order to serve more ads, the greedy buggers), and I don't subscribe to RealMoney.com either. Never fear, Mike, we'll get ahold of that Altucher article.

Chart of the Day -- US Dollar futures, Weekly Chart

When you read in the Economist that "a further steep decline in the dollar seems inevitable," it's tempting to put on one's contrarian hat and say "an immediate steep rally in the dollar seems imminent." If your clever prediction comes true then you can cry, Look At Me, I'm So Smart!

Sentiment Update for the Week Ending October 29, 2004

A large and unexpected rally last week... I was hoping prices would continue to fall, but there are a gazillion funds out there that are desperate to show positive calendar-year results. If there is post-election chaos then the sentiment could go terrible on the double, which would be nice for those of us who are sitting by with ready cash.
