OK, a quick look at JILL. I got a little lucky catching this one since she wasn't completely obvious (like MAMA) at first. The initial risk was very small so the reward to risk worked out to be very large in the end. The only non-dummy thing I did (i.e. stupid thing) was get a little anxious when I saw the broad market selling off when I got back, which made me dump half early. But that's OK because it was the little voice talking, and he has a pretty good record of doing right by me. Good night!

JILL moving up, regret selling that half but the little voice said, "Chairman, sell half," and I obeyed. Posted at 6:22 PM, GMT
Sandra Tsing Loh? Never heard of her. Interesting mix: German mom, Chinese dad. Born in 1962. (Now there was an early mixed-race marriage). An interview. I liked this bit:
"When I graduated from CalTech with a BS in physics, and went on to English in grad school -- in our
family, with our values, it was kind of a failure not to go on to your PhD in physics. To go on to
a PhD in English was like a failure, because it was a soft topic."
Another interview. An article, The Baby Experts, that she wrote for The Atlantic. Posted at 6:06 PM, GMT
Back. Stopped out of MAMA at the tightened stop. Small loss. JILL continues to look fine, but the tone has reversed 180 degrees so I'm selling half here at 18.30 and carrying the rest with a breakeven stop. Posted at 5:47 PM, GMT
See you later. Posted at 4:06 PM, GMT

The recent selling has me a bit concerned about some Pharmaceutical and Software holdings, but I'm waiting and watching, not selling yet. Posted at 10:46 AM, GMT

David Hochman writes an article about Google.
"Google can be useful as a starting point to research or for superficial inquests," said James H. Billington, the Librarian of Congress.
"But far too often, it is a gateway to illiterate chatter, propaganda and blasts of unintelligible material."
Spoken like a true librarian. Posted at 7:49 AM, GMT
