Today's swing trade in USG worked beautifully. These picks are free every day, but it would be nice if you sent a gift via my Amazon wishlist. Thanks for your generosity. See you tomorrow!

A colorful shot of CHKP. If you understood the 95 Trading for Dummies lessons, you would know why, where, and when I bought and sold this.

The Dog Jones put in an outside reversal on the daily today after testing the highs... that's something to be aware of.

Profits from the CHKP trade just slightly higher than BRLI, but it was so much easier, mentally. Posted at 8:53 PM, GMT
Finally BRLI pops the morning high... glad to make money in this one, but it was a slog.

BRLI is acting a little better now, but it has turned out to be a pretty lame trade.

I've tightened the protective stop on CHKP on that latest expansion bar. If it closes the day nicely, I'll be fat and happy. Posted at 8:05 PM, GMT
USG continues to climb. You've sold half and have a breakeven stop on the remainder. Aren't you glad you look at my free swing trading idea every day?

The tone did flip back to positive which is helping the CHKP trade. BRLI still dogging it... depending on how it acts when/if it falls to 21 I might just close it out for a loss. Posted at 7:00 PM, GMT
Update on USG. It continues to climb. If it gets to 18.18 sell half, and go breakeven stop on the remaining shares. Visit every morning for your free daily swing trade set-up.

The tone has turned negative, so chances are that the longs are going to be driven out... of course the mood might flip back to positive, so I'll just stick to my original stops. See you at the close. Posted at 4:40 PM, GMT
My yoga teacher, Melanie, is going to India for a couple of months to see her yogi, or something. I'm going to miss her. I spend most of the class sitting in my modified lotus position (i.e. Injun style) concentrating on her tummy. She's in her late 30s, but her body... yow. She does nothing but yoga... no cardio, no weights. And of course she's a vegetarian. Her tip to me today was to replace brown rice with basmati rice. I asked what I should replace pork rinds with. She just smiled in reply because she doesn't like conflict. Posted at 4:07 PM, GMT
P-stop BRLI 20.10 (long, small shares). Posted at 3:45 PM, GMT
P-stop CHKP 20.88 (long). Posted at 3:31 PM, GMT
Terry Gross talks with Michael Lewis about his book, Moneyball. Posted at 3:11 PM, GMT
INVN is collapsing. It's interesting because, like USG, INVN is one of John Dorfman's Robot Portfolio picks for 2004. Posted at 3:06 PM, GMT
USG triggered long. Make sure your protective stop is in place. If USG goes to 18.18, sell half and move your protective stop to breakeven on the remaining shares.

Gentex set up on the weekly chart and USG set up on the daily chart. I'm going to continue to post the daily swing trade idea for free. I plan to send the weekly swing trade set-ups only to those people who buy me something on my Amazon wishlist. A gift of a book, CD, or DVD will get you a month's worth (4 weeks) of picks. This seems like a friendly way to do things. It can also be pretty cheap if you find a used item, which is fine with me. I usually find several set-ups on the weeklies, and would send more detailed comments about them in my email. (Please Read the Disclaimer)

A look at the reversals on the weekly US Dollar and Gold charts. Is this just a pause in the trend or the beginning of a major reversal? Everything that I read says it's just a pause in the trend, which makes the contrarian in me wonder if it may mark a major reversal.

John Wasik writes about the systematic skimming of 401(k) plans:
"Despite the likelihood that millions of employees and investors may be taken to the cleaners on broker-sold funds,
few are outraged since they have no idea how much they are paying. Employers often don't know the full extent of
plan expenses because they aren't fully disclosed.
... employers have a legal obligation under federal law to provide the lowest-cost, most prudently managed funds for your retirement plan, it's up to them to audit your plan and get you the best package." Posted at 9:57 AM, GMT
George Carlin is going to have to amend his Seven Dirty Words routine. 'Those are the ones that will infect your soul, curve your spine and keep the country from winning the war.' Posted at 9:42 AM, GMT
Google continues to test monetization in various scenarios. (Somebody please kill that spokesman.) Posted at 9:38 AM, GMT
Michael Cormany talks about his detective, Kruger.
"[Kruger's] a loner like most PI's, but beyond that he doesn't have much in common with a lot of the heroes. He's a
complete outsider who feels more at home with the dispossessed than the middle class. He never wins a fight, he hates
guns, and wouldn't own one if you paid him. Instead of a cool, trendy pet or a huge Rottweiler or something, he has a
lop-eared rabbit he fished out of a garbage can."
Lop-eared rabbit? That's great; I've ordered a couple of Cormany books to give him a shot. Posted at 9:25 AM, GMT
I loved this headline: China sends a policeman to Afghanistan. You have to understand the Chinese concept of 'yisi, yisi' to get where they're coming from. Posted at 9:19 AM, GMT
Bic Runga comes from New Zealand (Her father is Maori, her mother is Chinese). She'll be playing in London at the end of this month and again in March for a solo show. I plan to go to both. Here's a review of a recent show she did here.
