AOL TIME WARNER TO RENAME COMPANY "TIME WARNER." They're also changing the ticker symbol back to "TWX" from "AOL." (I remember trading old AMER back in the day.) The press release reminded me of my When Angry Shareholders Attack! post.

Everybody and his grandma is looking at a possible Test of Top in the stock indexes here. (If you want to understand what a "Test of Top" is, read Dunnigan.) The cruelest thing that could happen would be a dip back to 1370ish in the NQ, which would get a lot of players short, then it reverses and blasts up and through the highs. General Wes Clark announces his bid to become President. I'm not sure he's over six feet tall, but he has to be taller than Dean. I'd like to know about General Clark's exercise regimen because he looks damn good for a 58-year-old guy.

From a Washington Post article on Clark:

"[Retired Gen. Barry R.] McCaffrey acknowledges that Clark was not the most popular four-star general in the Army leadership. 'This is no insult to Army culture, a culture I love and admire,' McCaffrey said, 'but he was way too bright, way too articulate, way too good looking and perceived to be way too wired to fit in with our culture. He was not one of the good ol' boys.'"

Were Doug Casey and General Clark separated at birth?

That means the honest, capable, competent, representative, responsive, satisfactory, and frugal politicians never have to fear removal... all three of them.
