Sell the News
Since the Treasury decided to suspend issuance of the 30-year bond, the 10-year note has become the new benchmark long term interest rate. After the announcement of the Treasury's decision, bond prices "tested" the old high established in 1998 (remember, bond prices and yields are inversely related), promptly reversed, and have dropped like a rock in the last few weeks.
