Bumper Crop
When I studied in Harbin in 1990 the only English language newspaper our school regularly got was the China Daily. They often published a lot of (unintentionally) funny stuff, including a daily mention of a "Bumper Harvest!" in some corner of the Motherland. During the cold and bleak Manchurian winter my classmates and I amused ourselves by passing notes around which said "Look Out, it's a Bumper Crop!" |
