Books My Boy Has Read

Added on by C. Maoxian.

My son is a pretty good reader; if he gets interested in a book, he'll read it quickly. I decided to start keeping track of the books he has read (since he doesn't), beginning this past summer. He's 11 years old now and has just started the sixth grade:

Look Into the Darkness of the Day

Added on by C. Maoxian.

A clean-cut Fleet Fox covering Gene Clark's great song, Life's Greatest Fool, with a somewhat noisy and overenthusiastic band.

Fleet Foxes's Robin Pecknold performs "Life's Greatest Fool" as part of the Gene Clark No Other Tour.

Movies Watched -- Brooklyn

Added on by C. Maoxian.

111 minutes so at least 10 to 20 minutes too long. A feel-good movie, "heartwarming," about a young Irish lass who emigrates (immigrates?) to America in the 1950s. Oddly structured since all the drama happens in the final third of the movie. It was well-made, the actress is very appealing in a pale, plain-pretty way. Has Don Draper's second wife in it, she's still beautiful and still can't act. I didn't fast forward, but it doesn't get a green (go) recommendation from me because it was a little too wholesome (i.e., fake). Yellow rating (consider).
